Haplothrips statices statices
Biology and distribution
Described from England on Armeria maritima.
Distribution: Widespread around the coasts of north western Europe, and also recorded from Eastern Europe. Breeding in the flowers and under the leaf rosettes of Armeria maritima and Statice limonium (Plumbaginaceae).
Note: Short winged specimens of H. statices have not been found together with macropterous specimens, they are therefore treated as distinct subspecies. H. statices statices (Haliday, 1836) is the macropterous form; H. statices morisoni (Priesner, 1928) the micropterous form.
