Hercinothrips aethiopiae
Biology and distribution
Described from Almaya, Ethiopia from Beta vulgaris (Amaranthaceae).
Distribution: Africa; introduced into the Netherlands with imported Aloe (Xanthorrhoeaceae), Hedera (Araliaceae) and cactus plants. Also recorded in Southern Germany on Chlorophytum (Asparagaceae).
