Described from Florida USA (A. dozieri<\/i>), Barbados (A. gowdeyi<\/i>), Hawaii USA (A. usitatus<\/i>), Cuba (A. variabilis<\/i>), Kenya (H. brevicollis<\/i>), Tanzania (H. karnyi<\/i>), Sri Lanka (H. soror, H. sororcula<\/i>) and Seychelles (H. mahensis<\/i>).<\/p>\n

Distribution: Found widely around the world in tropical and subtropical regions. Recorded also from\u00a0Japan. Presumably coming from tropical regions of Africa, as this is the only area from which males have been seen.<\/p>\n

Adults have been collected from a wide range of flowers, with no indication of any particular host association; also found on grasses.
