Described from Berkeley, Californien, USA from grasses.<\/p>\n

Distribution: A. apteris<\/em> has been reported southward from California through Mexico and the west coast of South America to the Falkland Islands and is also known from Hawaii. Probably distributed by whaling industry, it is found today in Western Australia, Tasmania, Norfolk Island and it is widespread and common throughout New Zealand. Moreover, A. apteris<\/em> has been recorded twice in Scotland, at Ayr and Fair Isle, and twice in Britain, in West Yorkshire and Devon. It also has been found on Guernsey (Ulitzka unpublished).
\nA. apteris <\/em>feeds and breeds on leaves. It is commonly found on grasses (Poaceae), Erigeron <\/em>(Asteraceae),\u00a0and is known to cause leaf deformation on\u00a0Medicago <\/em>(Fabaceae) and garlic (Allium, <\/em>Amaryllidaceae).[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator css=”.vc_custom_1485687581362{padding-top: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 0px !important;}”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]References<\/strong><\/p>\n
