Biology and distribution<\/strong><\/p>\n

Described from Sweden (T. juniperinus, T. junipericola<\/i>) and Romania (T. carpathicus<\/i>).<\/p>\n

Distribution: Thrips juniperinus<\/em> is a Palaearctic species, known in Europe mainly from northern and eastern regions; records are also available from Scotland and Spain. Further records are known from Iran and from China, where the species has been reported from Xinjiang.
Thrips juniperinus<\/em> is closely associated with juniper. The main host plant is considered to be Juniperus communis<\/em>; Juniperus oxycedrus<\/em> has also been recorded [Cupressaceae]. The species lives and develops on juniper, with both leaves and male pollen-bearing cones reported as food sources. Adults have occasionally also been collected from Pinus sylvestris <\/em>[Pinaceae].<\/p>\n
