Further records are known from Iran and from China, where the species has been reported from Xinjiang.<br \/><em data-start=\"18\" data-end=\"38\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Thrips juniperinus<\/em> is closely associated with juniper. The main host plant is considered to be <em data-start=\"367\" data-end=\"387\">Juniperus communis<\/em>; <em data-start=\"389\" data-end=\"410\">Juniperus oxycedrus<\/em> has also been recorded [Cupressaceae]. The species lives and develops on juniper, with both leaves and male pollen-bearing cones reported as food sources.
