Biology and distribution
Described from Denmark (T. obscura), USA (L. poaphagus and T. striata), former Czechoslovakia (A. virgo), Samsonvale, Queensland, Australia (A. 6-guttus) and Arcachon, France (A. discrepans).
Distribution: Widespread worldwide, particularly in temperate regions. This species can be found up to altitudes of 2.700 metres.
A. obscurus feed and breeds on leaves of various grasses (Poaceae), commonly in the leaf axils. It is sometimes considered a minor pest on various cereal crops, including Avena, Hordeum, Secale, Triticum and Zea.
