Biology and distribution

Described from Italy (C. buffai) and Algeria (M. lesnei).

Distribution: Not well known; Reported from France, Italy  and Algeria, also known from the Portuguese mainland (Ulitzka unpublished). Members of Bactrothrips are fungus feeders on spores.
