Biology and distribution
Described from former Czechoslovakia.
Distribution: Widespread across Europe; also recorded from Michigan USA.
Bolothrips icarus is a thermophilic species. It is found in dry grass tussocks and feeds on fungi.

Type information
Types of C. icarus and B. icarus f. pallipes might be stored at the National Museum in Prague, but probably they have been lost.
