Haplothrips flavicinctus
Biology and distribution
Described from Oberweiden, Austria; from grasses.
Distribution: Pontic, southeast-European and probably spread over the whole Mediterranean area: records from Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Corsica (Ulitzka unpublished); also Middle East as well as North Africa and Ethiopia.
Haplothrips flavicinctus can be found during all seasons in dry habitats. It is living and breeding in grass tussocks, particularly Andropogon ischaemum and Cynodon dactylon (Poaceae).
