Haplothrips nipponicus
Biology and distribution
Described from Izu Peninsula, Japan from bamboo leaf.
Distribution: Japan, in temperate and subtropical regions. Most common Haplothrips species in Japan.
H. nipponicus occurs on both green leaves and dead leaves of many different plants as well as in the leaf-litter. It often has been recorded together with other Thysanoptera and there is a possibility that it may be a predator on other thrips.
