Biology and distribution
Described from Kenya (A. bagnalli var. pallicornis, H. trybomianus), Sierra Leone (H. derisor), Mali (H. tertius), Tanzania (H. articulosus) and Israel (H. jordanicus).
Distribution: Widespread in Africa (reported from Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Tanganyika, Tanzania and Zaire) but also known from Israel, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, India (zur Strassen 1979), China (Song et al. 2013) and Thailand (Ulitzka unpublished).
H. articulosus is a flower-dwelling species that seems to be associated with Asteraceae, though it also has been collected on grasses.
