Karnyothrips melaleucus
Biology and distribution
Described from Florida USA (C. elongatus, H. pini, Z. bicolor), Cuba (H. cocois), Denmark (H. melaleucus, in a glasshouse) and from Japan.
Distribution: Widespread around the world in tropics and sub-tropics, although the male is recorded only from Taiwan. Collected from bamboo, grasses and leaves, but also from dead branches and dead twigs. Predator on small arthropods like various Coccoidea.
