Limothrips denticornis
Biology and distribution
Described from England (T. denticornis), Austria (T. kollari, L. adustus), Finland (T. bidens), Russia (T. secalina) and France (L. incertis). Recorded from North America and Australia.
Living in the leaf sheath of different grasses, including cereals. Crop pest in corn fields. Females exhibit mass flights in summer (thunderbugs); males are wingless.
