Biology and distribution

Described from the source of the Andritz (Schöckl area) near Graz, Austria.

Distribution: Reported from Georgia, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Italy, and England; usually occurring in restricted, local populations in woodland habitats. Limothrips schmutzi generally lives solitarily on grasses, particularly on species of Bromus (Poaceae).”
