Biology and distribution
Described from Alphen a.d. Rijn, Netherlands from bulbs of Lilium pardalinum (Liliaceae).
Distribution: Liothrips vaneeckei most probably originates from East Asia. It has been introduced widely around the world by the horticultural trade in lily bulbs and orchid stems.
