Biology and distribution

Described from Liergues (near Villefranche-sur-Saône), France (M. acetoscella) from Rumex acetosella (Polygonaceae) and Bulgaria (M. kratochvili) from turf.

Distribution: Turano-Mediterranean; in Central Europe only found in warmer locations. M. acetosellae is a thermophilic and xerophilic species which is mainly found in inflorescences of Rumex acetosella.
