Biology and distribution
Described from Yokoshuka city, Honshu, Japan from Lithocarpus edulis.
Distribution: Parascirtothrips fagaceae is exclusively found in Japan. Besides from Lithocarpus edulis [Fagaceae] it has been reported from Castanopsis sieboldii [Fagaceae], Aucuba japonica [Cornaceae], Machilus thunbergii [Lauraceae] and Myrica rubra [Myricaceae]. Parascirtothrips fagaceae is found on the leaves of its host plants.
