Described from Canary Islands.

Distribution: Mediterranean regions and Atlantic Islands; introduced into other continents: reported from California (USA), Cape Verde, New Zealand and South Australia (Norforlk Islands).
Breeding on different deciduous trees, particularly on Citrus, Ilex, Myrtus, Rosa, Tamarix.
