Scolothrips longicornis
Biology and distribution
Described from Austria (S. longicornis) and Russia (S. acariphagus).
Distribution: Western Palaearctic; also reported from California, USA.
Scolothrips longicornis is found on many different plants which are infested with spider mites. It feeds predatorily on these mites and can be used as a beneficial species.
Females are macropterous, males hemimacropterous.
