Thrips atratus
Biology and distribution
Described from England (T. atratus, C. britteni), Italy (T. longicornis) and former Czechoslovakia (P. atrata adusta).
Distribution: Holarctic (in the Palaearctic excluding North Africa), widespread in both Europe and North America.
Thrips atratus is found in the flowers of various plants, but with preference to blue or purple flowering Caryophyllaceae and Lamiaceae.
