Thrips minutissimus
Biology and distribution
Described from Sweden (T. minutissimus), Germany (T. obscura), England (B. variabilis) and Lithuania (T. evestigatus).
Distribution: common and widely spread in Europe. Stenochronous species emerging in high abundance during spring, mainly in beech forests (Ulitzka, 1999) but also to be found in shadowed places on different deciduous trees, often on Carpinus or Quercus, also on Rosaceae. Living on young flowering twigs.
