Haplothrips phyllophilus
Biology and distribution
Described from Austria (Ragnitz near Graz) from Fagus.
Distribution: Wide spread in Europe, also reported from Iran.
Haplothrips phyllophilus is living on leaves of various deciduous trees, particularly on Fagus sylvatica (Fagaceae). Adults are found during early summer on the underside of young leaves. Occasionally, these thrips may be collected also on conifers or from the low vegetation near trees..
