Biologie und Verbreitung
Beschrieben aus Indien an Trieben von Ailanthus excelsa; D. pumilus aus Taiwan an Diospyros discolor; D. nesius aus Guam an jungen Blättern von Melastoma marianum und aus Sri Lanka an Melastoma malabathricum.
Verbreitung: Über tropische und subtropische Gebiete weit verbreitet; Nachweise aus Indien, Guam, Taiwan, Japan, Neukaledonien, Französisch Polynesien, Barbados, Brasilien, PuertoRico, Hawaii und Mauritius (Ulitzka unveröffentlicht).
Dolichothrips indicus lebt polyphag an den Blättern vieler unterschiedlicher Pflanzen.
