Biologie und Verbreitung

Beschrieben aus Bloemfontein, Orange Free State, Südafrika von einer Liliaceae.

Verbreitung: Afrika (Südafrika, Nigeria). Mit Pflanzen der Art Haworthia altilinea wurde die Art nach Kalifornien, USA verschleppt. In Europa wurde H. dimidiatus zunächst in Portugal, später in der Gibraltarregion und Mallorca v.a. an Aloe arborescens gefunden. Auch aus Italien, den Niederlanden und aus Deutschland (Ulitzka unpubliziert) liegen Nachweise vor, von importierter Aloe vera und anderen Sukkulenten.
