Biologie und Verbreitung

Beschrieben aus Kalifornien USA an Citrus.

Verbreitung: Westliches Nordamerika; vielfach verschleppt. Nachweise aus Hawaii, New York (USA) und aus nördlichen Teilen Mexikos. Eingeschleppt in Europa und China (zweifelhafter Nachweis). Quarantäne-Art in Australien und Neuseeland.

Erwachsene Tiere und Larven leben an Blättern unterschiedlicher Fabaceen und treten an entsprechenden Nutzpflanzen wie Bohnen als Schädling auf (»Californian bean thrips«).
