Thrips pusillus
Biologie und Verbreitung
Beschrieben aus Aburi, Ghana von Blüten von Stropanthus gratus (Apocynaceae)(T. pusillus) und aus Kamerun (T. meliaefloris).
Verbreitung: In Afrika weit verbreitet und häufig. Die Art lebt polyphag an vielen unterschiedlichen Pflanzen. Pflanzenschäden, die auf T. pusillus zurückgehen treten meist an den Blüten auf, z.B. an Kaffee, Zitronen sowie Mais und anderen Getreidearten. Schäden an den Früchten sind von Bananen bekannt.
